Qualifying Trade Show Booth Visitors
Is your staff trained on how to qualify traffic that comes into your trade show booth? Remember, you have only a finite time at a show. So you want to make sure you're spending time with the right people, and not letting the important ones slip by!
Here's the deal - you have to be willing to ask questions. Let them do the talking and find out if they are someone you could do business with.
What do you want to find out? Well, to start, find out who you are talking to, who they work for, and in what capacity. This will help you determine if the trade show attendee is a prospective customer or not.
Ok, so that's the easy part. But here's the kicker: Don't be afraid to encourage people to move along if they're not interested in your services!
Some of the people who attend trade shows are 'tire-kickers' -- they like to discuss everything, but buy nothing. You don't want to waste your time with them. Thank them for stopping by and move them along.
Believe me, you'll do well to conserve that necessary energy for the right prospects. Be on the lookout for them at all times.
